EF82294 CASE# 25-3326 OF DATE AND r�N + 04/13/25 10:50 O�COLLISION NARRATIVE Unless otherwise noted, the following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King, WA. On 4/13/2025 at about 1052 hours I responded to a collision at 4800 NE 4th St. I arrived at the location and observed Unit #2 was blocking east bound traffic on NE 4th St. Unit#1 with damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle. Unit#1 was pulled off the road and had significant damage to the rear with the bumper completely ripped off. I contacted the involved parties, who were walking around and had no obvious injuries. There, I collected the involved parties driving documents and the independent recollection of events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit#1 (Todd) said he was the sole occupant of the vehicle and that prior to the collision he was driving west on NE 4th St when he turned into the left turn lane to enter the parking lot at 3800 NE 4th St. Lane two allowed space for him to take a left turn into the parking lot, so he proceeded to take a left turn when he was struck by Unit#2, who was driving east in lane one. The driver of Unit#2 (Madilyn) said she had one occupant (Sierra) in the front passenger seat and prior to the collision she was driving east on NE 4th St in lane one and approaching a green light at NE 4th St/Union Ave NE. As Unit#2 was nearing the parking lot entrance at 3800 NE 4th St, she saw Unit#1 taking a left turn in front of her and she attempted to brake to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful and struck Unit#1 as they were entering the parking lot. Based on the above statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit #1 (Todd) was the proximate cause for the collision due to not granting the right of way during a left turn causing a collision. I gave the driver of Unit#1 a verbal warning for violating RCW 46.61.185(1) by being the driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection and not yielding the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. The driver of Unit#1 (Jordan) did not grant the right of way to Unit#2 traveling in the roadway which had the right of way and was already underway. Due to Unit#1 having to traverse across oncoming traffic, the driver of Unit#1 must wait until the intersection is clear of hazard prior to proceeding. Both vehicles were driven safely off the roadway. I took photos of the vehicles and uploaded them to Axon. I assisted the involved parties in exchanging information and provided them both with the case number.
