The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 4/30/2025 at 0959 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run report that occurred on 04/25/2025 at
Public Storage located a1755 NE 48th St.
I called the victim, identified as Joseph J. Lee (DOB: 05/30/1983), and asked what happened. Lee
stated that he was driving West on NE 48th St approaching Lake Washington Blvd N and was
stopping for the stop sign ahead of him. Lee stated that while stopping, the vehicle behind him, a
silver Toyota Camry (WA LP: BXV8673) rear ended their 2022 Tesla Model Y (WA LP: CNG5836).
Lee stated that the driver left the area and did not stop to exchange information.
Lee stated that he would not be able to identify the other driver involved and that he does not wish
to pursue prosecution at this time.
I sent Lee the hit and run options form via email, and Lee stated that he has dashcam for this
incident. I provided Lee with an evidence.com link to upload his video and photos.
