NARRATIVE
On 04/07/2025 at approximately 1430 hours, I was dispatched to a blocking vehicle collision in the
2022 S Puget Dr, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington.
Upon my arrival, 1 confirmed there were no complaints of injury requiring immediate medical response
at the time of report. While on scene, I collected each involved party's driving documents and their
independent involvement leading up to the collision.
The driver of Unit 1, Jatorius Woods, stated he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was
attempting to exit a private property parking lot located at 2022 S Puget Dr, and on the north side of
the roadway. Jatorius stated that he was intending to make a right turn out of the parking lot to
proceed southbound onto Benson Rd S following the turn. Jatorius stated that the right turn lane of
Benson Rd S had created an opening in traffic to allow enough space for Unit 1 to turn. Jatorius
believed all southbound traffic on Benson Rd S was clear and therefore proceeded out into the
roadway. As Unit 1 reached the left-turn-lane, Unit 1 was met by another vehicle - Unit 2. Jatorius did
not see Unit 2 traveling in the left-turn-lane. Jatorius stated that he was unable to avoid the collision
after having pulled out into the roadway and that Unit 2 struck Unit 1, specifically on the driver's side,
causing significant damage.
The driver of Unit 2, identified as Jon Eide, said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was
traveling southbound on Benson Rd S and approaching the intersection of S Puget Dr and in the left-
turn-lane. Jon stated he was intending to make a left turn at S Puget Dr. Upon reaching the location
of where Unit 1 was turning out from, Unit 2 observed Unit 1 pull out into the roadway but was unable
to avoid the collision. Both vehicles collided in the roadway and Unit 2 suffered significant damage to
the front passenger side.
Based on the above statements, 1 believe that the driver of Unit 1 (Jatorius) is the proximate cause for
the cause of collision as Jatorius is required to comply with RCW 46.61.205(1) which states that
every driver of a vehicle about to enter or cross a highway from a private road or driveway shall yield
the right-of-way to all vehicles lawfully approaching on said highway. Unit 2 was already underway in
the roadway and had right of way.
Both Unit 1 and Unit 2 had to be towed due to extensive damage. An exchange of information was
provided to all involved parties.
No citations were given. This is an informational report only.
