On 03/16/2025 at approximately 2257 hours, I was dispatched to a hit and run collision at Valley Medical Center, located at 400 S 43rd St. Dispatch advised WSP was with the victim in the ER visitors parking area, and the suspect vehicle had fled in an unknown direction. I arrived and contacted the victim, identified and verified as Isaiah T. Bedell (12/15/1996), in the parking lot outside of the ER. As I approached, Isaiah was contacted by ER staff and escorted to a room for injuries sustained from the collision. Speaking with Isaiah inside the hospital I gathered the following: He was stopped at a red light in the left lane on S 43rd St, facing eastbound, preparing to turn left and merge onto NB SR167. Isaiah's vehicle, a 2012 Audi A4 (WA/CLN0445), was rear ended. Following the collision, Isaiah observed the suspect vehicle flee further eastbound on S 43rd St. and then turn right and head southbound on Davis Ave S. Isaiah was able to take a quick photo of the suspect vehicle before leaving his sight; unfortunately, the license plate is blurry. Isaiah described the vehicle as a silver sedan which was missing its front plate. Isaiah described the driver as a light skin young male, wearing a gray hoodie and had medium length afro style hair. Looking at the photo I was unable to read the rear license plate, and the vehicle appears to be a newer model Acura sedan, but I am unable to determine which model. Isaiah expressed he was experiencing moderate pain in his lower back and hips. When I observed Isaiah walking to the hospital room, he was walking very carefully and certainly appeared to be in pain. Isaiah also confirmed he was wearing his seat belt and there was no airbag deployment in his vehicle. I provided Isaiah a business card and case number. He also sent me the photos he took of the suspect vehicle. I returned to Isaiah's vehicle outside and obtained photos of the damage. There was moderate damage to the lower part of the rear bumper, as well as damage to the driver's side and passenger side rear quarter panels. The photos that Isaiah provided and the photos I took of Isaiah's vehicle were uploaded to the case file. If the suspect can be identified, there is probable cause to arrest for Hit and Run Attended (RCW 46.52.020), as the suspect struck Isaiah's vehicle, causing injuries to Isaiah, and willingly fled the scene without exchanging information.
