On 04/19/2025 at approximately 0709 hours, 1, Officer Lantagne, responded to a non-blocking, hit
and run collision which occurred in the parking lot of the Sunset View Apartments, 2101 SW Sunset
BLVD, which is located in the City of Renton, County of King, and the State of Washington. I
responded in my fully marked police vehicle, wearing my patrol uniform.
contacted the owner of Unit#2, A'licia Y. Crawford (DOB 09/08/2000). Crawford told me the
following: Crawford's vehicle, a 2014 Dodge Avenger with license plates CRB3448 issued out of
Washington State, was parked in her assigned spot in front of the "E" building. On 04/19/2025 at
approximately 0700 hours, Crawford discovered damage to the front left fender and driver's door that
occurred overnight.
evaluated the damage to Crawford's vehicle which consisted of minor crumpling, paint chips, and
black plastic transfer to the front left fender, quarter panel, and front driver's side door. Crawford
stated she did not have insurance for the vehicle. Crawford said she contacted the owner's of the
black pickup truck next to hers and they told her they did not hit her vehicle.
I provided the case number and my contact information to Crawford.
On 04/24/2025, 1 reviewed security video of the parking lot with Detective Edwards. I observed the
following: On 04/18/2025 at approximately 1700 hours, a black GMC Sierra pickup truck with license
plates D09287F issued out of Washington State, was backing into the space to the east of Crawford's
vehicle. As the truck backed into the space, the left rear bumper of the truck, Unit#1, struck the front
left fender and door of Unit#2, which was parked and unoccupied.
The impact of the collision visibly jarred Unit#2, and the driver of Unit#1 repositioned the truck into
the space.
A white female approximately 40 to 50-years-old exited the driver's door of the vehicle and walked
into the apartments. I conducted a Department of Licensing records check using the license plate
which showed the registered owner's as Jason D. Roberts (DOB 06/15/1984) and Christine A. Realph
(DOB 04/16/1980). Roberts and Realph had addresses at the location in apartment E403. I reviewed
the Department of Licensing photograph of Realph and compared it to the security video which was a
match.
I responded to apartment E403 and contacted Realph. I confirmed Realph was the female from the
security video who was driving Unit#1 at the time of the collision. I advised Realph she was being
audio and video recorded. I advised Realph of her Miranda rights from my department issued booklet
and she advised me she understood her rights. I asked her if she wanted to talk with me about the hit
and run collision and she told me she didn't remember the collision.
Realph stated she would pay for the damages, and I advised her I would contact Crawford to verify if
Crawford wanted to pursue hit and run charges against Realph. I contacted Roberts who stated he
had insurance for the vehicle and could send it to my email. As of 05/02/2025 at approximately 0507
hours, Roberts has not replied with his insurance information.
I established probable cause Realph committed the crime of hit and run unattended vehicle, by
colliding with another unoccupied vehicle belonging to Crawford, and failing to stop and either locate
the operator or owner of the vehicle, or leave a note in a conspicuous place, which provides the name
and address of the person who struck the unattended vehicle.
I advised Crawford of my findings and provided her with the case information. Crawford stated she
wished to assist with the prosecution of Realph for hit and run.
The collision diagram is an accurate illustration of the events leading up to the collision. I issued
Realph a citation, citation 5A0150054, for hit and run unattended vehicle to be processed through the
court.
