2014 Community
Needs Assessment
Created to for the 2015
Comprehensive Plan
“The data in the Community Needs
Assessment will be used to help
create the goals and policies for the
Housing and Human Services Element
of the City’s Comprehensive Plan,
which will be completed in 2015. Many
of the needs cross over with other
Elements of the Comprehensive Plan,
such as Economic Development, Land
Use, and Transportation.”

Comprehensive Plan
Housing & Human Services
Element
“The Housing and Human Services
Element presents Renton’s goals and
policies to meet the Growth Management
Act’s (GMA) housing goal to ‘Plan for and
accommodate housing affordable to all
economic segments of the population of
this state, promote a variety of residential
densities and housing types and
encourage preservation of existing
housing stock.”
The element integrates goals and policies
related to human services because
housing and human service needs are
often intertwined.”
