EF88493 CASE# 25-3919 OF LNa 05/03/25 19:51 F coy�isI©�ON u NARRATIVE Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Rainier Ave S approaching SW Victoria ST. Unit 1 turned on their blinker and began to make a left turn over two solid yellow lines onto SW Victoria ST. As unit 1 was making this turn Unit 2 was traveling southbound on Rainier Ave S approaching SW Victoria ST. Unit 1 turned as Unit 2 was approaching resulting in the vehicles colliding. Unit 2 struck the front passenger panel of Unit 1 with it's front bumper. Both vehicles were inoperable and extremely damaged. Unit 1 had damage to the front passenger panel, with the axle of the front tire destroyed, no airbags were deployed. Unit 2 had a combination of airbag deployment and major damage to the front bumper of the vehicle. Both vehicles were later towed by Bankers Towing. The driver of Unit 1 expressed pain in one of his arms and was evaluated by the fire department. There were three occupants in Unit 2, the driver had fled the scene, the front passenger was unable to get out of the vehicle, and the rear passenger was standing out of the vehicle. The rear passenger was identified as Markus T. Watkins, Markus reported that his cousin was driving the vehicle. Markus identified his cousin as Ronnie Sampson (DOB: 12/06/1981). Markus stated that Ronnie had gone to Autozone to make a phone call. Officers checked Autozone and found that it was closed, they also checked the surrounding area and found that Ronnie was not present. After approximately thirty minutes Ronnie never returned to the scene of the collision. The front passenger of Unit 2 was identified as Norman C. Taylor (DOB: 07/05/1976), Norman is also the owner of the vehicle. Norman was incapable of getting out of the vehicle claiming that he had chest pain. Norman was eventually transported to the hospital for minor injuries. I attempted to interview Norman but Norman refused to speak to me, he refused to provide his name or any information. I was able to obtain his name as Norman provided it to the fire department. No insurance was provided from Unit 2. 1 spoke further with the driver of Unit 1, identified as Duriel Noble (DOB: 02/20/1981). Duriel reported that he did not witness anyone in the driver's seat of the vehicle but he believed that there were only two occupants in the vehicle. Duriel believed that Watkins was driving as he saw Taylor in the passenger seat and Watkins standing outside of the vehicle directly after the collision occurred. Currently I find no probable cause to arrest any subject due to conflicting statements as there is no verification as to who the driver of Unit 2 was. I find the proximate cause of the collision to be Unit 1's failure to yield to Unit 2. There is no further information at this time.
