The upcoming critical path item work in Work Zones C and A involves cement concrete curb and gutter. There was dis- cussion related to allowing the Contractor to move to other work in another work zone, but the Contractor would like to continue with his current schedule to complete the work in work zones C and A. The City requested documentation from the Contractor to back up the price increase for the cement con- crete material for review. On 3/11/22 the Contractor submitted documentation of current cement concrete pricing and his original quote, in the form of an invoice and quote. The contractor proposal included a 21% markup for materials for the concrete subcontractor along with a 12% markup on subcontactor. The proposed unit price for the concrete price adjustment was $101.99/CY. The City reviewed the documentation and negotiated down the price adjustment to $84.29/CY for work zones A and C only, while the concrete worker strike affects the cement concrete material prices. The engineer's estimate for the volume of cement concrete in work zones A and C was prepared on 3/12/ 22, estimated to be approx 213 CY.
