The following is documentation of the oral order given by the Resident Engineer per WSDOT Std Spec 1-04.4
The Contractor is directed to do the following additional work:
Remove the multiple stem tree at Sta 904+11 LT,see below photo. The Plans note this tree as a 10"diam.tree
to be removed.lt is not possible to grind the roots from this tree due to the embankment,the tree trunk shall be
cut down as close as possible to existing grade.
The additional work required to remove and dispose of this tree,above what is required for the removal on one
10"diam.tree,will be paid via a new contract item at the lump sum price based on the invoice to be provided by

Narrative:
The equitable adjustment for this work was determined to be a lump sum amount of
$4,907.28.
FWD No 15 was issued on 5/6/22 directing the Contractor perform additional work re-
quired to remove the multi-stem tree in lieu of a single 10-inch tree, but not grind out
roots.
The Engineer's Estimate for the increased of removal of a multi-stem tree -vs- a single 10-
inch tree was estimated to be $4,000, based on a previous invoice received for the triple
tree removal work.
The Contractor provided a quote for the additional work to remove the multiple tree, over
and above removal of a 10-inch tree @ $4,907.28 and the quote was accepted.
Determination of Additional Working Days
A determination of zero additional working days was made.

something down,never does it refer to hauling or stump grinding. Stump grinding.and wood removal are separate charges.

anything too small to go on the truck and too big for the chipper.

THE CONTRACT IS MODIFIED AS FOLLOWS:
Description of Change:
• Add the following lump sum item to the contract:
o Lump Sum Item No. 11-A107 MULTIPLE STEM TREE REMOVAL,
Quantity= 1 LS, Unit Price = $4,907.28
As required in FWD No 15 - Remove the multiple stem tree at Sta 904+11 LT. It is not
possible to grind the roots from this tree due to the embankment, the tree trunk shall
be cut down as close as possible to existing grade.
Reason for Change:
There was a changed condition. The Plans call for the removal of one 10" diam. tree. The tree
is a multiple stem tree.

Sections 1-04.4 and 1-04.5 of the 20xx WSDOT/APWA Standard Specifications shall govern
this Change Order.The Work of the referenced Contract is modified to include the changes
detailed herein.The payment provided for herein shall constitute the complete and final
settlement for all costs of labor, equipment, materials, overhead,profit, permit fees, and all
other claims that may be made by the Contractor as a result of this change.
