EF89250 CASE# 25-3615 OF DATE AND r�N + 04/23/25 09:36 O�COLLISION NARRATIVE CC 25-3615 On 4/23/2025 at 0937 hours I was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of N 4th St and Burnett Ave N in the City of Renton, King County, Washington. Pre-Collision Driver 2 stated that he was traveling West on N 4th St approaching Burnett Ave N in the #2 lane. Driver 1 stated that she was stopped at a stop sign facing North on Burnett Ave N in the #1 lane, and was preparing to go straight ahead to continue North on Burnett Ave N. Collision Driver 2 stated that as he entered the intersection, Unit 1 proceeded through the intersection and he was unable to stop to avoid a collision. The front bumper of Unit 2 collided with the front passenger side wheel and quarter panel of Unit 1. Driver 1 stated that she came to a complete stop at the stop sign and did not see Unit 2. Driver 1 stated that she proceeded through the intersection and the front bumper of Unit 2 collided with the front passenger side wheel and quarter panel of Unit 1. Injuries The front right passenger of Unit 2 complained of minor left knee pain. Did not want the fire department. Vehicle Disposition Both vehicles were inoperable and were towed from the scene. Proximate Cause I determined that Driver 1 is at proximate cause for this collision because except when directed to proceed by a duly authorized flagger, or a police officer, or a firefighter vested by law with authority to direct, control, or regulate traffic, every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop sign shall stop except as provided in (b) of this subsection at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, before entering a marked crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or, if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering the roadway, and after having stopped shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on another roadway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time when such driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways.
