EF89252 CASE# 25-3648 OF DATE AND r�N + 04/24/25 07:51 O�COLLISION NARRATIVE CC 25-3648 On 4/24/2025 at 0836 hours I was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at around the 1700 block of Maple Valley Highway in the City of Renton, King County, Washington. Pre-Collision Driver 2 stated that he was facing East in the #3 lane of Maple Valley Highway at around the 1700 block, which is a left turn only lane to proceed North on i405 NB. Driver 1 stated that she was behind Unit 2 in the #3 lane of Maple Valley Highway facing East preparing to perform a lefthand turn. Collision Driver 2 stated that the light was yellow and he came to an abrupt stop because he knows that there is red light cameras in the area and did not want another ticket. In doing so, Driver 2 stated that when he came to a stop, the front bumper of Unit 1 collided with the rear bumper of Unit 2. Driver 1 stated that Unit 2 stopped suddenly and that she did not have enough space or time to come to a stop to avoid a collision. Driver 1 stated that the light was yellow at the time of the collision. Driver 1 stated that the front bumper of Unit 1 collided with the rear bumper of Unit 2. Injuries No injuries reported Vehicle Disposition Both vehicles were able to be driven away. I assisted Driver 1 in removing her front bumper to get the vehicle home as it was hanging by 4 screws. Proximate Cause I determined that Driver 1 is the proximate cause for this collision because the driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway. If Driver 1 had been using due regard for the speed of other traffic, this collision would not have happened. Driver 1 was cited per RCW 46.61.145. 1 certify (declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct.
