Extend the 1.0 foot high cement concrete retaining wall from Sta 904+22,38.0'LT to Sta 904+60,38.0'LT per plan sheet RD5-071921. Add full depth expansion joints to the walls in WZB and WZD every 10 LF to match the ajoining cement concrete sidewalk expansion joints,and add them at vertical steps in the wall and at angle points in the wall,per plan revision 1 on sheet WD1-072022. The added walls will be paid via 81 A42-Conc Class 4000 for Retaining Wall 3A=7.7 SY BI A105-Sidewalk-Wall Footing=69 LF The added expansion joints will be paid via a new Contract Item A112 Expansion Joints for Walls in WZB and WZD,as measured from bottom of joint to top of joint on the exposed face of wall=170 LF Rough Cost Estimate,WSDOT Construction Manual 1-04.4,Changes. On 7/20/22 FWD No 25 was issued which directed the Contractor to expand wall limits in WZB and to add expansion joints for the walls in WZB and WZD. On 7/20/22 the engineer's estimate was prepared for a total of $18,583, which included an estimate of $94/LF for the expansion joint. On 8/2/22 the Contractor provided a quote for the work that provided a unit price of $31.36/LF for the expansion joint. This unit price quoted was below the engineer's estimate and was accepted.
