The City of Renton invites interested and qualified contractors to submit sealed bids for the
following project: TITLE: RENTON MARKET & PIAZZA

The work, to be substantially completed from the date of commencement under this
contract, but shall not exceed a Substantial Completion date of January 31, 2026 following
Notice To Proceed; shall include, but not be limited to: Interior and exterior to Renton
Pavilion that is now renamed the Renton Market. Project consists of upgrade of interior
finishes to include floor finishes, casework, ceilings and addition of market stalls and two
anchor tenants, secure office, classroom kitchen, scullery, to include Mechanical,
Electrical and Plumbing additions as required for the City of Renton, Washington, all as
shown and described on the Contract Documents prepared by Graham Baba Architects,
dated February 10, 2025. The project is partially funded by two grants that are through the
U.S. Small Business Administration FY 23 Congressional Community Projects and
Washington State Department of Commerce.
Bid documents will be available May 13, 2025. Plans and specifications may be

documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime
Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on "Posted
Projects", "Public Works", and "City of Renton". This online plan room provides Bidders
with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order
full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-
off tool. It is recommended that Bidders “Register” in order to receive automatic e-mail
notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self- Registered Bidders
List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will
need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project.

The City’s fair practices/non-discrimination policies and the State of Washington
prevailing wage rates are applicable for this public works project located in King County.
Bidders are responsible to verify and use the most recent prevailing wage rates. The
“Effective Date” for this project is the Bid Form due date above. The applicable prevailing
wage rates may be found on the Department of Labor & Industries website located at
https://lni.wa.gov/licensing-permits/public-works-projects/prevailing- wage-rates/.
A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid must accompany each bid.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or
irregularities in bids received. The City’s Fair Practices and Non-Discrimination policies
and State Prevailing Wage Rates apply to this project.
Mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the
construction contract. Voluntary workforce diversity goals for this apprentice participation
are identified in the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders may contact the Department of Labor
& Industries, Apprenticeship Section, to obtain information on available apprenticeship
programs.
Bids shall be in a sealed envelope marked: “RENTONMARKET&PIAZZA”.
