Dear Alex Morganroth:
The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) has received the Notice of Application
and SEPA Proposed Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) for the Boeing Crew Shelters -
737 Logan Ave N project (LUA25-000124 ECF,SSDP/PR25-000030) that the applicant is
requesting Environmental (SEPA) Review and a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit for
the installation of thirteen (13) new crew shelters and tool cabana structures on Apron R at the
Boeing plant site. The subject properties (APN 0723059001 and 0723059046) are located to the
east of the Cedar River along the southern shore of Lake Washington. The site, developed with
the Boeing 737 plant and associated support buildings, is located in the Urban Center - 2 (UC-
2) zone and has a Comprehensive Plan designation of Commercial Mixed-Use (CMU). The
project would involve the installation of six (6) new crew shelters, two (2) of which will replace
existing shelters, and seven (7) new tool cabanas. The structure sizes range between 80 sq. ft.
and 671 sq. ft. The site is located with the Lake Washington Reach I Shoreline and is
designated High Intensity Overlay. High Seismic Hazard is mapped on the project site. No
change in access to the site is proposed and no new impervious surface would be added.
According to the applicant, no tree or vegetation removal would occur a part of the project. The
applicant submitted a Technical Information Report, Photometric Report, and Lake Study
Report.
King County facilities, the Eastside Interceptor 2 and the Bryn Mawr Trunk are located
within 100 feet of the highlighted project area. (See enclosed record drawing showing the
location of the facility in the project vicinity).
In order to protect this wastewater facility during construction, WTD requires that City of
Renton submit preliminary design drawings for the project, so that WTD can assess its
potential impacts. Please send drawings to:
