The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 5/8/2025 at 1548 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run report that occurred at around the 900
block of Talbot Rd S. Persons in this report are referred to by their first name as they share the same
last name.
I called the reporting person, identified as Alma 0. Mendoza (DOB: 10/27/1976) who stated that they
were exiting off of the i405 SB off ramp and proceeding onto Talbot Rd S to go Northbound. Alma
stated that her husband, Ryan L. Mendoza (DOB: 06/03/1976) was driving at the time of the collision.
While on the phone with both Ryan and Alma, it was relayed that while entering Talbot Rd S in their
2018 Toyota Camry (WALP: BIR1958), a 2009 Mazda 6 (WALP: CRT5098) stuck their vehicle. Alma
stated that they were proceeding North in the#4 lane, the Mazda moved from the #3 lane into the
#4 lane. Alma stated that the front passenger side bumper collided with the rear drivers side door of
the Camry.
Alma provided me with her insurance and stated that they did not wish to pursue charges in this
case.
I was later informed that the same suspect vehicle was being driven by the registered owner and was
involved in a collision at around 1714 hours. The registered owner was arrested for DUI during the
