EF90487 CASE# 25--3939 OF LNa 05/04/25 13:11 F coy�isI©�ON u NARRATIVE CASE NO. 25-3939 Narrative Unless otherwise noted the following events occurred within the City of Renton, County of King, State of Washington while I was working uniformed patrol. This report is not an exact sequencing of events and statements have been paraphrased and summarized. On 05/04/2025 at approximately 1312 hours I was dispatched to an unknown injury accident located at 333 Renton Ave S. Dispatch noted that a vehicle had backed into a power pole and hit a house, with no smoke or fire seen from the wires. While enroute Officer Vanderhoek aired that there were wires over the roadway and provided an updated address of 343 Renton Ave S. No injuries were reported, and the Fire Department responded as well and determined that there was not an active risk for a fire from the downed wires. Upon my arrival I contacted the driver of the vehicle, identified via WADL as Nu D Ho (DOB 12/04/1976 verified via WA DOL photo). Nu does not speak English well, so a neighbor and witness provided an account of events. Verbally identified as Andy N Boissonneau (DOB 07/14/1996 verified via WA DOL photo), he stated the following: He and Nu share a driveway in the 400 block of Renton Ave S, approximately half a block from the site of the accident. Nu was driving up the hill towards their driveway and paused near the entrance to allow Andy to pull his vehicle out. While waiting, Nu's vehicle began to slowly roll backwards down the hill. Nu turned to the side to attempt to stop the vehicle but ended up jumping the curb on the west side of the roadway and knocked down a power pole and struck the residence located at 343 Renton Ave S. Andy saw Nu's face during this and described him as looking panicked. I asked Nu for a statement, and he provided the following: He was headed up the hill when he got to his driveway and asked Andy to pull his vehicle out so he could park. When he went to shift his vehicle into gear, something went wrong, and he began sliding backwards. He pressed on the brake, but his vehicle did not slow down so he turned to the side to try to stop his vehicle manually. Based on the results of my investigation, this collision occurred due to a mechanical failure. Nu does not have active insurance on his vehicle. The property owner of 343 Renton Ave S was unavailable for contact, so I left him a voicemail with the case number. Officer Vanderhoek took photos and uploaded them to the case. PSE responded and dispatched a crew to begin repairs. The road was taped up and road closure signs were placed.
