Narrative
Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State of
Washington.
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras.This report is a summary of
events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 5/9/2025 at approximately 1949 hours I was dispatched to a report of a hit and run at Fred Meyer located
at 365 Renton Center Way. Dispatch advised hit and run in the parking lot approximately 15 minutes ago.
I called the reporting party identified as Jonathan Habte DOB 4/16/1982.Jonathan advised his car is a blue
2010 Nissan Altima (WA LIC C71589C) and was parked in the first row south of the main entrance.Jonathan
stated he parked at approximately 1920 hours and returned to his car at approximately 1935 hours. In that
time his vehicle was struck by another vehicle.Jonathan stated a witness left a note stating his car was hit and
provided the license plate (CUY5253) but that plate was returning clear no record.Jonathan stated there was
damage to the front bumper in the center.The license plate and plastic license plate holder were both
damaged and torn off the car.There was no evidence of paint transfer on his car. I took his insurance
information and provided him with a case number to provide to his insurance.
If a suspect can be identified there is probable cause for Hit and Run Unattended.
Jonathan advised he just wanted a report for insurance purposes.
