EF90812 CASE# 25-4083 F LNa O 05/08/25 21:23 F coyisI©ON u NARRATIVE This report documents a collision involving a police vehicle. I arrived on scene and observed two vehicles, Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2, within the intersection of NE 4th Street and Monroe Avenue NE. I observed that Vehicle 1 was in the northernmost lane of the westbound lane of NE 4th Street. The front of this vehicle was at rest against Vehicle 2. 1 noted significant front-end damage to the front of the vehicle. I observed Vehicle 2 was northbound in the intersection of Monroe and NE 4th Street, as though stopped mid-execution of a lefthand turn. I observed significant damage to the front passenger-side of the vehicle and fluid leaking from the engine. Vehicle 2 was a Renton Police vehicle bearing number 270. Driver 1 stated that she was driving westbound on NE 4th Street approaching Monroe Avenue when she observed several police vehicles with their lights and sirens on driving at a high rate of speed northbound on Monroe. She pulled her vehicle over to the northmost lane and stopped just before the intersection. When these vehicles passed, she observed she had a green light and began to drive forwards into the intersection. As she entered into the intersection, she saw another police vehicle with its lights and sirens activated. This vehicle was also driving at a high rate of speed as it entered the intersection and began to turn left. Unable to stop her vehicle in time, the front end of her vehicle struck the passenger side of Vehicle 2. Driver 2, an on-duty police officer in a marked vehicle, was driving eastbound on NE 4th Street approaching Monroe Avenue with his lights and sirens activated. He was responding to a call for a shooting (CN 25-4084). As he approached the intersection, he observed that he had a green light and that all vehicles near the intersection were stopped as though to yield to his vehicle. He began to make a left turn onto northbound Monroe Avenue NE and his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by Vehicle 1. Fire arrived on scene to evaluate all parties. Driver 1 claimed to have chest pain. As I spoke to her, she regularly stopped to wince or strain, and verbally stated, "I'm sorry, my chest hurts." Fire Department personnel stated that she may be suffering from anxiety and possibly may have a minor injury from her seat belt. The passenger in Vehicle 1, a six-year-old girl, was upset and frightened but did not complain of any pain. Fire Department personnel did not detect any injuries. Driver 2 claimed that he was uninjured. Due to the possibility that injury may present itself later, I provided him with an L&I packet and advised him of its use. Driver 1's husband arrived to take her and her daughter to Valley Medical Center. I provided them with a case number and instructions on how to report the incident to their insurance company. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Banker's Towing. I photographed both vehicles and the scene. I certify (declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct. PAGE 3 OF 5 REPORT NO.
