i have reviewed the applicaticn for Fry s Electronics to be located at 900 - Garden Ave North and have
the following comments-
EXISTING CONDITIONS
WATER 12-inch water main on Garden Ave N. and an existing 12-inch on N- 8' Street. Pressure in
the vicinity is approximately 125 psi. The project is located in the 320 Pressure Zone and
is not inside an Aquifer Protection Zone. 6.000 (derated) gpm fire flow is available
SEWER There is an existing 8-inch sewer main, on Garden Ave N- There is also an existing 20-
inch sewer main on N- 8' Street
STORM The, are existing storm facilities on Garden Ave N . and N 8- Street
STREETS There is curb and gutter fronting the property
CODE REQU:REIMENTS
WATER
1. A Water System Development Charge (SDC) of S138.229-63 is owed on this site. The rate is based
on 897.595 sq- feet x S0.154- 68.000 sq feet has been previously assessed- This is payable at the
time the utility permit is issued
2. Preliminary 'ore flow is 6000 gpm. Applicant will need 6 hydrants to serve this site. One hydrant must
be within 150 feet from the structure and five others shall be located within 300 feet of the structure.
Applicant has shown three new hydrants to be installed on the new water main. however the
location of three additional hydrants has not been shown on the plan.
3. Existing hydrants to be counted as fire protection, will be required to be retrofitted with a quick
disconnect Stortz fitting
4. Applicant has shown a 12-inch main to be extended along the east and north side of the building
and looped to Garden and N 8' Street. A pressure -reducing valve may be required
5. A separate utility permit and separate plans will be required for the installation of all double detector
check valve assemblies for fire sprinkler systems- Al! devices instailed shall be per the latest
Department of health -Approved List' of Backflow Prevention Devices- Location of device shall be
shown on the civil plans and shall show note Separate plans and utility permit for DDCVA
