C. Particle Size Analysis
A detailed grain size analysis was conducted in general accordance with ASTM Standard D 422-
92 on several of the soil samples to determine the grain -size distribution of the sampled soil_ The
information gained from this analysis allows us to provide a detailed description and
classification of the in -place materials. In turn, this information helps us to understand how the
in -place materials will react to conditions such as heavy seepage, traffic action, loading, and so
forth.
