On May 27, 2025, at 0823 hours, dispatch requested that I contact the victim of a recent hit and run that
occurred near the intersection of Morris Ave S and S 7th St, in the city of Renton, county of King, and state of
Washington.The reporting party stated that he witnessed a hit and run collision to a parked vehicle.The
suspect vehicle was described as a land scaping truck bearing Washington license plates C12078X.The owner
of the parked vehicle is a laborer in the area.
Upon my arrival I spoke with the owner of the parked vehicle.The owner was identified as Jesus M. Campos
(01/08/1964).Jesus stated he did not see the collision take place but mentioned that his co-worker saw the
entire incident. I asked Jesus if he wanted to press charges against the other driver if found and he said no and
only wants his vehicle fixed.
I spoke with the reporting party, Mike Youngschild. He told me that earlier around 0810 hours, he observed a
landscaping truck traveling southbound on Morris Ave S. When he approached S 7th St, he realized the street
was closed, so he proceeded to turn his vehicle around. While doing so, he reversed into Jesus's Toyota Camry
bearing Washington plates CEF6858.The damage was minor. Mike tried stopping the suspect vehicle, but it
fled northbound on Morris Ave S and then westbound on S 6th St.
I asked Mike if he could recognize the driver if seen again. He said no but described the driver as a "little guy."
Local records show that the pickup truck belongs to a man named Bryce R. Landrud. He reported his vehicle
stolen on March 26th, 2025. Bryce also recovered his vehicle that same day. Reference case number 25-2712
for more information.
I called Bryce's phone number, but he never answered. I left a voicemail advising him to call me back.
I also noticed that his vehicle was stolen from Larkspur Landing in Renton. I drove over to the hotel and
checked the parking lot. I was unable to locate the vehicle.
I provided Jesus with my contact information and case number.
