King County Metro received the notice in the subject line and forwarded it for internal review.
Please see below for comments:
From the Facility planner: This project will impact bus stop 60022 and as such should include full ADA
front door accessibility improvements and 47’ of clear area on the sidewalk for all-door access.
From Construction Coordination: To All Contractors and Agencies performing construction work in
Metro Transit Bus Stops and Roadways:
Contractors or Agencies doing work that impact transit routes or bus stops, must reach out to this office directly
by sending an email to construction.coord@kingcounty.gov, with the following information:

· Construction Request Form (Attached)
· All Approved TCPs and permits, (Required)
· Please send all pertinent TCPs for this work along with a completed copy of the attached
construction request form.
Notification Guidelines:
· Please note that King County Metro requires all contractors and agencies to follow notification
guidelines.
· Visit KC Metro System Impacts web site for more details at: Transit System Impacts - King
County, Washington
· Your project is not approved until you are notified by the KC Metro Construction Impacts
office in writing.
· We will contact you if we require additional information or T-39 No Parking Signs. The
contractor is responsible for providing permitted no-park signage for the placement of
temporary bus stop placement or for the safe movement of coaches on a planned reroute. No-
Parks must be placed 72 hours prior to the start of work to be enforceable.
· Once we receive all required information, your request will be reviewed and final written
approval will be sent via email.
· Once approval is received, the contractor may contact the permitting agency as necessary.
· KCM Construction Coordinators will arrange for the coordination of all bus stops closures and
the placement of temporary bus stops if necessary.
· More notification lead time will be needed when impacting a KC Metro Layover and access to
Comfort Stations. Station.comfort@kingcounty.gov 206-477-9959
· TCPs need to accurately dipict your traffic control and work site set up. This includes noting
the location of impacted bus stops.
Precon, Construction and Site Meetings:
· KCM Construction Coordinators are available to attend meetings.
o Please send all meeting invites to construction.coord@kingcounty.gov
o Site meetings can be coordinated with Construction Coordinators and Metro Service
Quality Field Supervisors.
Bus Stop Construction and Long-Term Bus Stop Impacts:
· If the contractor needs to remove/reinstall bus stop equipment/structures, such as zone flags,
bus stop shelters, benches, and KC garbage cans, our Transit Route Facilities group will work
with you to coordinate this work.They can be reached at:

· If the contractor needs to find information on bus stop specifications, please contact our Bus
Stop Projects group at: busstopprojects@kingcounty.gov
· NOTE: All work that will require the construction, removal or installation of bus stop amenities
requires 30 business days notification lead time.
Timely notification allows us to plan, mitigate, and most importantly, notify our riders and operators of
your work.
· Single Bus Stop Closures: 5 business days (Not including holidays)

· Projects that require multiple bus stop closures: 10 business days (Not including
holidays)
· Street Closures that impact transit: 10 business days (Not including holidays)
· Long-term Bus Stop moves that require the closure and relocation of a layover or
access to Metro facilities: 30 business days (Not including holidays)

multiple phases, please complete one form for each phase.
Be sure to include all approved TCPs and permits for this impact with your request form.
Please be sure to reach out to the permitting agency (if applicable) for prior approval of your project.
