To the extent that changes to the Contract Documents are required based on the questions received, the Contract Documents have been modified as noted above in the Specifications and Drawings sections of this Addendum. Item Questions and Answers 5.1 Date: 5/20/2025 From: PLS PLS is the local rep for Selux and Hess. We are pricing up the documents and have a few questions for the design team that would enable us to put together a more accurate bid. If possible, please advise on: Question: Fixture Types F1 and F1A (MAST POLE FIXTURES by SELUX): There are several ways to mount these fixtures to the pole. Please advise which is preferred: • Floracion Mount: https://www.selux.us/media/pages/products/olivio/olivio-floracion- grande/17e503357b-1747156050/olgl-f_ss.pdf • Sistema Arm Mount: https://www.selux.us/media/pages/products/olivio/olivio-sistema- grande/883af7c296-1734110528/olgl-s_ss.pdf • Sistema 2 Arm Mount: https://www.selux.us/media/pages/products/olivio/olivio-sistema- 1/2d9d972b02-1734110719/olgl-sb_ss.pdf Answer: Floracion Mount is correct. Sistema Arm Mount, and Sistema 2 Arm Mount are not used. Final fixture placement on each pole to be coordinated with landscape architect/lighting designer. Question: The poles are called out as 18' tall. Are these poles straight or tapered? Is there a preference on the pole base cover? Answer: The poles are the Olivio Floracion nominal 8” round strait aluminum column. The pole mounts directly to the footing per detail 12/S4.05 with no base cover. Question: Eventually, we will need to know the configuration/placement of the (5) fixture heads on each pole. We don't need to know this information for the bid, but will need to know in order to produce shop drawings for review. If this information is known now, please pass it along. Answer: Page 3 1507 Belmont Avenue . Suite 200 . Seattle . Washington . 98122 . 206.323.9932 Approximate positioning shown in attached calc file, and we used this positioning for our photometric calc. Each of the three fixtures per pole were mounted 18” apart from one another, at 15’, 16.5’ and 18’ respectively – this is rough/preliminary, and likely the top fixture will be lower than 18’ since that is the full height of the pole. The two projector heads per pole were not documented in photometrics. Hewitt will share a layout for each pole for confirming fixture positioning. Question: Fixture Type F2 (CATENARY SYSTEM by HESS): Is there a pole spec for the catenary poles? (Height, Round vs Tapered, Pole base cover, etc?) Answer: See detail 11/S4.05 for the catenary pole detail. Structural is carrying this information. 5.2 Date: 5/20/2025 From: SeaTac Lighting &Controls Question: We would like to send you our lighting controls substitution package for your project called Renton Market & Piazza. Answer: See attached reviewed substitution request. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER COMMENTS: • No exceptions taken to substitution request from an engineering perspective, but ensure lighting designer has also reviewed substitution request. • Components submitted are wireless, while basis of design calls for wired design. If wireless system is chosen, cost delta should be shared with Owner. LIGHTING DESIGNER COMMENTS: • Base design calls for a “touchscreen” to be located in an office – programming changes shall be easily performed by operator and/or lighting design team, the Cooper system must be modifiable by the operator without requiring factory support. • Sensors shall not be integrated into any of the primary fixtures visible to the public in the space. • Lights shall be turned on/off in the control zoning groups as indicated in the control intent. Whatever system is approved shall require shop drawings for approval, showing locations of control devices. 5.3 Date: 5/28/2025 From: Schuchart Question: Questions Regarding HVAC: 1) Page M8.01 detail #1 BMS Network Architecture Note #3 calls out the existing CHW, HHW, AHU controllers to be integrated into a new Building Automation System (BAS). What are these existing controllers and can as-builts be provided for these systems so the control contractor knows what they are getting into? Answer: To Arup's knowledge, as-builts are not available for the original controls installation. Based on site observation the existing controllers appear to be similar to the Delta DSC model. For the Page 4 1507 Belmont Avenue . Suite 200 . Seattle . Washington . 98122 . 206.323.9932 purposes of bid, contractor shall assume new DDC controllers will be provided. Following award, contractor shall evaluate reuse of existing controllers as a project cost savings. 5.4 Date: 5/28/2025 From: Schuchart Question: Questions Regarding Signage: • the spec for “material 1” is 3M 3650-10 (?) ..it appears to apply over opaque sections of the building - 3650-10 has a clear adhesive (creating a white back) vs. 180-10 (gray backer) which is a bit more robust - perhaps the 180-10 would be more effective? Answer: No exception taken with this approach. Question: • no spec for “material 2” which is clear vinyl for the windows - so.. 8150? Answer: Material shall be 3M™ Scotchcal™ Clear View Graphic Film IJ8150 Question: • composition of the building cladding is not specified- it looks like horizontal wood planking but the photos I can see have a sheen - does that mean plastic/metal? Answer: Existing building cladding is metal. Elevations call out HPC-03 at existing metal cladding. Reference specification section 099600 for High Performance Coatings to be applied prior to Environmental Graphics. Question: • for prints on clear “Material 2” - will they be transparent from inside or do they need white behind the imagery? (this will read stronger from the exterior) Answer: Intent is to read the same color from both sides. Question: • there are a few places where “material 1” and “material 2” continue the same image. – this will result in a different look. Answer: This is a known design intent. Question: Cladding seems to be “lap” siding with channels between the planks – we assume each edge will be trimmed - not tucking the vinyl into the channel? apparently verified by the detail on pg. 5. (see attached for visuals). Answer: For durability and longevity, the exterior vinyl on cladding should be “tucked” into the gaps of the cladding. Our recommendation for installation is: install vinyl as one sheet, trim down the center in large gaps of cladding and fold excess onto visible lips of cladding. See attached “Vinyl Application Diagram” for application of vinyl onto existing metal cladding. 5.5 Date: 5/22/2025 From: Neeley Construction Question: Will the city accept an AIA 310 bid bond in lieu of the one in the bid documents? Answer: No. The Proposal Bid Bond FORM A included in the specifications shall be used. 5.6 Date: 5/29/2025 Page 5 1507 Belmont Avenue . Suite 200 . Seattle . Washington . 98122 . 206.323.9932 From: NCES Concrete Cutting and Drilling Question: I came across this today and am putting some numbers together for the GC’s that are bidding. Is this a certified payroll project, and will there be DBE requirements for this project? Answer: Yes. 6.0 INFORMATION The following item(s) are provided as a matter of information only to all bidders and plan holders and do not modify or become part of the Contract Documents. BACnet is a data communication protocol for Building Automation and Control Networks developed by the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Product Features & Benefits • No additional hardware – Hosted on the WaveLinx CORE the CORE BACnet interface does not require any additional hardware. • IP enabled – The CORE BACnet IP interface simplifies the integration with other BACnet IP enabled Building Automation Systems by leveraging the existing building IT infrastructure. • Eliminates the need for BACnet Routers – The CORE BACnet interface is hosted on the WaveLinx CORE which is an IP device. BACnet routers are typically required when the BACnet IP systems are on two different subnets. To avoid dealing with BACnet Router configuration, you can install the WaveLinx CORE on the same subnet as the BAS system and use your existing router to route the data between the wireless area controllers and the Insight Manager. • Control the lighting system – Allows other sub-systems to change the light levels for their buildings, floor areas, zones and individual devices. • More Insights using lighting data – Allows facility managers to read the value of the individual devices (occupancy sensors and daylight sensors) and individual space outputs (zone light levels, area scenes) from their BAS console. WaveLinx eliminates the cost and complexity of typical wireless control system commissioning while providing a flexible and reconfigurable topology for on the fly space adjustments. The WaveLinx system meets modern code and utility requirements, delivers energy and cost savings, while enabling buildings to become smart buildings. The WAC coordinates between the WaveLinx PRO smart and connected Mobile App and various WaveLinx PRO devices to create communications and a building ecosystem that provides out-of-the-box functionality and leverages Cooper Lighting Solutions patent pending automatic code commissioning features. Recommended cleaning tips: • Never spray any fluids directly into the device. • Use of ammonia-based or VOC cleaners on this device must be avoided. Prolonged use may cause loss of integrity and expose electrified components. If this occurs, turn OFF power to the unit and replace. • Use a damp rag or single-use wipe to avoid excess liquid penetrating the device. • Be sure to wipe up remaining excess liquid after cleaning. • Ensure the cleaning agent used does not have harsh chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, highly alkaline or concentrated acids (such as hydrochloric acid that can be found inhousehold cleaners such as toilet bowl cleaners, bathroom tile and porcelain cleaners) as they could damage the device, causing them to become brittle and discolored. • Cooper Lighting Solutions recommends the use of a mild liquid detergent and water to clean the devices. Single use wipes (e.g. Lysol brand or equivalent) are acceptable to use for cleaning the devices, however the single-use wipes cannot contain bleach, ammonia, highly alkaline or concentrated acids. Recommended cleaning instructions: • Never spray any fluids directly into the device. • Apply the mild liquid detergent to a damp cloth or paper towel. Single use wipes (e.g. Lysol brand or equivalent) are acceptable to use for cleaning the devices, however single-use wipes cannot contain bleach, ammonia, highly alkaline or concentrated acids. • If excess liquid is present, remove by wringing out the cloth or paper towel to avoid liquid penetration into the device. • Clean the Cooper Lighting Solutions device by wiping over the surface with the damp cloth. • Remove an excess liquid remaining on the device with a dry cloth or paper towel.
