On 6/10/2025 I was working as a uniformed patrol officer and driving a marked patrol vehicle for
the City of Renton. I was dispatched to a report of a hit and run which had just occurred in the
intersection of NE 3rd St and Monterey Dr NE Renton/King/WA. Luis E Velasquez Morales DOB:
9/18/1982 was calling to report that someone had struck his blue 2018 Subaru Outback
WA/BID1109 and fled the scene.
I met Luis at the location, and he showed me obvious damage to the rear driver side bumper.
Luis said that he was in the#1 Lane facing west on NE 3rd, he said that he was stopped for traffic
just after the NE 3rd and Monterey intersection. He said that a red vehicle pulled out of Bronson
Way NE and tried to make a turn around his Subaru to get into the#2 lane of NE 3rd St to go
westbound. He said that the vehicle did not make the turn and collided with the Subaru. Luis
said he was not injured.
Luis said that the other driver exited his vehicle and provided Luis with a WADL that identified
him as Mauricio Rodriguez Ayala DOB: 3/19/1994. Luis said that Mauricio did not provide him
with a phone number or any insurance information. Luis said he provided his phone number to
Mauricio who agreed to call him later.
Luis said that all he could remember was that the vehicle Mauricio was driving is red in color. He
did not know a make or model. Luis did not know which way Mauricio left the scene. He advised
that the damage to Mauricio's vehicle would be on the passenger side front bumper.
Luis's daughter, Carmen B Velasquez DOB: 6/15/2019 was in the passenger side back seat at
the time of the collision. She was properly restrained in a toddler booster seat and was not
injured.
A DOL check showed Mauricio to an address of 3331 B S Morgan St Seattle WA.An in-house
records check showed him at that same address.There was no phone number listed.
Nothing further.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
