On June 16, 2025 at 1448 hours dispatch requested that I respond to a collision at 909 Thomas Ave SW, in the
city of Renton, county of King, and State of Washington.
Upon my arrival I spoke with the owner of unit 2, a 2022 Nissan Frontier bearing Washington plates D34202E.
The owner and reporting party is Maria E. Ramirez-Ramos. Maria told me that earlier a man had reversed into
her vehicle and struck the right side of her rear bumper.The damage is minor but the man who struck her
vehicle left prior to police arrival. Maria told me that the man involved admitted to not having insurance and
said "call the police."The man said he did not care.
Maria described the suspect driver as a thin 65-to 70-year-old male wearing dark clothing and a baseball hat.
He was seen exiting Global Foods and stated he was an employee there.The male was driving a 2000 Nissan
Maxima bearing Washington plates BYE1468. After running the vehicles information through WACIC/NCIC, I
learned that the vehicle was registered to Ricardo T. Mendoza (05/29/1957).
After reviewing the DOL return for Ricardo, I went and spoke with staff at Global Food, 909B Thomas Ave SW.
Staff showed me a video of an employee named "Ricardo."After analyzing the video, I am certain Ricardo is
the owner of the Nissan Maxima and the driver involved.This is due to Ricardo matching the suspect
description,the clothing attire, and vehicle DOL return.
Using Jinx I was able to obtain a phone number for Ricardo. I called that number several times, but no one
answered. I left a voicemail.
Staff at Global Foods also provided me with the same phone number for"Ricardo" which matched the one I
located on Linx. I was certain he was receiving my phone calls.
After advising Maria of my finding, Maria told me she wanted to pursue criminal charges for hit and run
against Ricardo.
Based on the information above, I believe there is probable cause to arrest Ricardo T. Mendoza for hit and run
when he failed to provide the required documents after a collision has occurred. He also fled the scene prior
to police arrival.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

I issued Ricardo Sector citation number 5AO600226 for unattended hit and run and submitted it for further
review with the Renton City Prosecutor.
This report is closed. RTF.
