The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 6/16/2025 at 1458 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run collision that occurred at the
intersection of Main Ave S and S 4th PI.
I called the victim, identified as Christopher D. Caswell (DOB: 01/04/1980), and asked what
happened. Caswell stated that this began as a road rage incident at the intersection of Benson Rd S
and S Puget Dr. Caswell stated that he was travelling North on Benson Rd S in his 2010 Ford Flex (WA
LP: CKV9406) and crossed the intersection of S Puget Dr. In this intersection, Westbound traffic is
able to perform a righthand turn to proceed North in a designated turn lane that enters Northbound
Benson Rd S. This lane abruptly ends and is forced to merge making the roadway a 2 lane divided
roadway without a barrier. Caldwell stated that as he crossed the intersection the suspect vehicle, a
black BMW crossover SUV (LP: UNK) entered Benson Rd S from S Puget Dr at a high rate of speed,
nearly colliding with Caldwell who had his 2-year-old grandson in his vehicle.
Caswell explained to me that the driver of the BWM nearly struck him there and began tailgating him
as they travelled North on Benson Rd S. Caswell stated that at one point the suspect vehicle pulled
alongside his vehicle and the suspect driver, a light skinned black female, 20-30, wearing a light
colored hoodie with curly hair and a tattoo on either her left cheek or left neck began yelling
profanities at him. Caswell stated that the suspect saw his grandson in the back seat and stated

something to the effect of"I don't give a fuck if you have a baby in there.".
Caswell stated that as he proceeded to enter Main Ave S from Benson Rd S, he got in front of the
suspect vehicle and was trying to get away from it and it's erratic behavior. Caswell stated that as he
came close to S 4th St the suspect vehicle rapidly accelerated. Caswell said that the suspect vehicle
swerved to the right and the front drivers side bumper of the suspect vehicle collided with the rear
passenger side of Caswell's vehicle. The suspect vehicle then ran directly into a brick wall. Caswell
drove into the Caliber Collision parking lot and stopped to assess any injuries for the suspect vehicle,
however by the time he was able to stop and look the suspect vehicle had fled the scene.
I will attempt to review video footage for this case at a later time.
