The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 6/19/2025 at 1547 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run report that occurred at 1012 N 42nd PI
at around 1445 hours.
I called the reporting person, identified as Henry L. Giang (DOB: 11/10/1988), and asked what
happened. Giang stated that he was working in the area and left his 2022 Tesla Model Y (WA LP:
CDV5267) parked at the dispatched address. Giang stated that he head his car alarm sounding and
went to investigate. Giang stated that he saw that there was a Hispanic male driving a 2009 Nissan
Rogue (WA LP: CHR8257) near his vehicle. Giang asked the male if he had hit his car and the male
stated that he did not.
Giang stated that he observed damage to his rear bumper and upon checking the video cameras
from his Tesla, saw that the male in that vehicle did in fact collide with his Tesla.
Giang stated that at this time he only wants to get insurance information from the other involved
driver, but if they refuse then he is willing to assist in prosecution. I was unable to find any
information to contact the registered owner via LE databases.
I will be following up on this case at a later time.
