EG02679 CASE# 25-4989 OF COLLI ION 06/08/25 14:58 OF COLLISION NARRATIVE On 06/08/2025, at approximately 0654 hours, while employed as a uniformed Patrol Officer for the City of Renton, I was dispatched to an injury accident at Factory PL N and N Maron St, within the City of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. The Driver of Unit 2 is Candland, Nicolle C (DOB 07-02-1994). Juliet was the driver of a 2017 Kia Sedona with license plate WA/BVB2938. Candland was the only occupant of the Kia. The Driver of Unit 1 is Paiz-Guarchaj, Luis A (DOB 04-10-1988). Paiz-Guarchaj is the registered owner of a Mitsubishi Mirage with license plate WA/BZP3494. Also involved in the Mitsubishi, Nunez- Sandoval, Lester A (DOB 11-26-1994). 1 arrived on the scene and observed the Kia on the sidewalk close to lane 1. The Mitsubishi was partially in lane 1 and on the sidewalk. I checked on the Kia, where I observed Candland as the driver. Candland was having a panic attack. I then checked on the Mitsubishi and noticed two occupants sitting on the ground of the sidewalk. I spoke with Paiz-Guarchaj, who stated he was the driver of the Mitsubishi. Nunez-Sandoval was sitting in the rear driver's seat of the Mitsubishi. Nunez-Sandoval stated he was not injured. Paiz- Guarchaj stated that he was feeling pain in his shoulder and back. The Renton Fire Department was called due to an airbag deployment from Mitsubishi and a complaint of pain from the involved parties. Renton FD medically cleared all involved parties. Paiz-Guarchaj stated that he was traveling on Factory PL N going eastbound in lane 2. He was changing lanes into lane 1 when he collided with another vehicle. He said he did not see a vehicle there. Candland stated she was behind the Mitsubishi in lane 2 going westbound. She then changed lanes into lane 1 so she could prepare to make a left turn onto Williams. Candland was in lane 1 going westbound when all of a sudden, the Mitsubishi turned into her lane and collided with her vehicle. I believe the approximate cause of this collision was Paiz-Guarchaj for changing lanes and colliding with another vehicle. Paiz-Guarchaj was cited for (RCW 46.61.140) Driving on roadways laned for (1) A vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practicable entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from such lane until the driver has first ascertained that such movement can be made with safety and operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance (RCW 46.30.020). Paiz-Guarchaj understood that he would receive his ticket by mail. My Axon camera was on for this call.
