NARRATIVE
Case Number 25-5478
On 06/24/2025 at approximately 0814 hours, I responded to 2200 Benson Rd S within the City of
Renton, King County, Washington to a non-injury blocking accident. Dispatch relayed over the radio
that two vehicles were involved in a collision and were near the entrance to Sunset Condos blocking
the entrance.
On arrival I saw both vehicles on the road blocking the entrance to Sunset Condos, both drivers were
on the sidewalk next to their vehicles and they both appeared to be fine. I identified unit 2 as a black
2020 Honda Pilot WA/LIC CFU2498 VIN# 5FNYF6H52LB016677 and the driver of unit 2 was
identified by her WADOL as Jaime Thuy Anh Ho DOB (04/28/1989). Jaime appeared to be fine and
said she has slight pain on her right leg, Jaime also had her daughter identified as Jade N Miller DOB
(01/01/2018) in the driver's side passenger seat who had redness on her left leg due to her seatbelt. I
started Renton Fire so that they could both be evaluated. Jaime provided me with a valid WA license,
registration and insurance. Jaime stated that she was driving northbound on Benson Rd S on the lane
closest to the curb when she noticed unit 1 identified as a black 2002 Volkswagen Golf WA/LIC
CSY5520 VIN# 9BWGK61J424000779 was in the center turn lane facing south. Unit 1 failed to grant
unit 2 the right of way and turned left to try and enter the Sunset Condos entrance which caused unit
2 to collide with unit 1 causing major damage to both vehicles. Unit 2 hit unit 1 along the entire right
side of the vehicle which made unit 1 unable to move. Both vehicles stopped at the location of the
incident and waited for police to arrive. I provided Jaime with my business card with the case number
and Renton Fire cleared her and her daughter medically. I made sure Jaime's vehicle was still able to
drive and once it was confirmed I returned Jaime with her items and told her she was free to leave.
I spoke to the driver of unit 1 who was identified by his WAID as Jose Parmenio Jimenez Rodriguez
DOB (06/18/1988), Jose appeared to be fine but informed me that he was having pain on his left leg.
Jose provided me with his WA identification card, proof of insurance and his registration. Jose then
told me that he didn't have a WA driver's license and that he hasn't changed the vehicle's registration
to his name yet because he purchased the vehicle a few days ago. Jose said that he was driving
southbound on Benson Rd S and came to a stop at the center turn lane. Jose said he waited until the
road was clear and then decided to turn left towards the entrance to Sunset Condos until he saw unit
2 driving over 60 mph towards him. Jose said unit 2 collided with him and caused his vehicle to be
immobilized, both drivers then got out of their vehicles and waited until police arrived. I provided Jose
with my business card with the case number and Renton Fire evaluated Jose and cleared him
medically. A tow was called for Jose's vehicle and was removed from the road shortly after by
Bankers Towing. I recognized Jose to be the at fault driver due to not granting the right of way to
Jaime as she was driving southbound on Benson Rd S., I also noticed that the damages were major
but if Jaime was going 60 mph as Jose claimed there would have been more damage than what was
caused. I decided not to cite Jose for not having a valid driver's license, but I did cite him for Failure to
Yield Right of Way. Once both vehicles were out of the roadway I cleared the scene.
