THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM HAS BEEN DESIGNED WITH SEPARATE HYDROZONES ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE
PLANT MATERIAL. THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A MINIMUM AVERAGE DISTRIBUTION
UNIFORMITY OF 0.625. THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO AVOID RUNOFF, LOW HEAD DRAINAGE,
AND OVERSPRAY. AVOID IRRIGATION DURING TIMES OF HIGH WINDS, WHEN RAINING, OR DURING THE MIDDLE OF
THE DAY.

LATERAL PIPE SIZE SHALL BE AS NOTED ON PLAN. UNLABELED SECTIONS SHALL MATCH THE SIZE NOTED OF
THE ADJACENT UPSTREAM PIPE. MINIMUM PIPE SIZE AT END OF LATERAL RUNS SHALL BE 3/4".

QUANTITIES AND PIPE LENGTHS INDICATED ON THE IRRIGATION SCHEDULE ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY AND

IRRIGATION NOTES FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO EXISTING:
1. CONSTRUCTION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS SHOWN ON THIS PLAN REQUIRE CONNECTIONS TO, AND PARTIAL DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING
IRRIGATION SYSTEM. UNDER THIS CONTRACT MAKE ANY REQUIRED MODIFICATIONS TO LAYOUT SHOWN TO CONFORM TO ACTUAL AS -BUILT
CONDITIONS OF EXISTING SYSTEM AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.
2. PRIOR TO ANY WORK, SCHEDULE A SITE VISIT WITH THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE AND GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO SURVEY THE EXISTING
SYSTEM. OPERATE THE ENTIRE SYSTEM FROM CONTROLLER AND DOCUMENT ON A PLAN ANY NONFUNCTIONING ZONES OR AREAS WITHIN
AND OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF WORK. THIS WALK THROUGH WILL BE THE BASIS OF AN UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR
AND THE OWNER AS TO THE STATUS OF THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. REPAIR ANY SYSTEMS DAMAGED DURING
CONSTRUCTION TO RESTORE THE SYSTEM TO AT LEAST THE STANDARD REVIEWED AT THE TIME OF WALK THROUGH. PREPARE A PROPOSAL
TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR ANY ADDITIONAL WORK OUTSIDE OF THE SCOPE OF WORK SHOWN ON THESE DRAWINGS, FOR REPAIR AT
THE OWNER'S OPTION.
3. PROVIDE TEMPORARY CONTINUOUS SERVICE DURING THE DURATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT TO WATER ALL EXISTING AREAS THAT
MAY BE AFFECTED DURING CONSTRUCTION. HAND WATER ANY AREAS TEMPORARILY THAT DO NOT RECEIVE WATER DURING PROJECT
DURATION.
4. REMOVE ALL IRRIGATION PIPING, SLEEVING OR HEADS IN AREAS TO BE MODIFIED. EXISTING WIRING MAY BE EXTENDED PROVIDED THAT
SPLICES ARE LOCATED ON THE AS -BUILT AND INSTALLED IN A VALVE BOX USING WATER TIGHT CONNECTORS AS SPECIFIED. IRRIGATION
HEADS MAY BE RE -USED PROVIDED THAT THEY ARE THE SAME AS SPECIFIED FOR THE NEW WORK AND THAT THEY ARE IN PERFECT
OPERATING CONDITION. IRRIGATION PIPING MAY NOT BE RE -USED.
5. DURING INSTALLATION OF THE WORK BY GENERAL OR SUBCONTRACTORS, NOTE THE LOCATION OF ANY EXISTING IRRIGATION INFRASTRUCTURE
ENCOUNTERED AND CLEARLY NOTE ON NEW RECORD DRAWINGS. NOTIFY THE OWNER OF ANY DAMAGE AND REPAIR DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY.
6. THE LOCATION OF IRRIGATION MAINLINE, LATERAL, SLEEVING, AND VALVES ARE SCHEMATIC ONLY AND SHALL OCCUR IN PLANTING AREAS
UNLESS SLEEVING IS SHOWN. MAKE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS AS REQUIRED TO COORDINATE WITH AS -BUILT DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS.
7. WHERE SLEEVING IS REQUIRED ACROSS EXISTING ASPHALT, SAW CUT AND EXCAVATE A SMOOTH, STRAIGHT EVEN TRENCH. AFTER
INSTALLING THE PIPING OR WIRING, REPAIR ALL PAVING IN ACCORDANCE WITH CIVIL PLANS AND DETAILS. PROVIDE COMPACTION CONSISTENT
WITH SURROUNDING AREA AND COORDINATE ALL WORK WITH GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
8. IDENTIFY WIRING RUNS FROM EXISTING CONTROLLER TO ABANDONED ZONES AND PROVIDE ONE LOCATION FOR A SPLICE BOX FOR THESE
WIRES. VERIFY EXISTING CONTROLLER LOCATION PRIOR TO WORK. VERIFY EXTRA SPARE WIRES AS AVAILABLE FOR USE.
9. AFTER CONNECTION TO THE SITE MAINLINE OR LATERALS AND BEFORE PLACEMENT OF HEADS, FLUSH THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS INSURING THAT THERE ARE NO CONTAMINANTS WHATSOEVER IN THE NEW OR EXISTING PIPING.
10. AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE NEW WORK, RUN THE ENTIRE SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THE SITE FROM THE CONTROLLER TO MAKE SURE THERE IS
WIRING CONTINUITY TO ALL VALVES AND SUFFICIENT FLOW TO ALL ZONES. FLAG ZONE NUMBERS PERMANENTLY ON BOTH SIDES OF ANY
SPLICES IN VALVE BOX, AND AT CONTROLLER. TEST AND REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY WIRING WHICH IS SHORTED, DAMAGED, NOT FUNCTIONING
WITH NEW WIRE AS SPECIFIED IN PVC SLEEVE, AT CODE REQUIRED DEPTH. IF NOT FEASIBLE, SUBMIT REQUEST TO USE DOUBLER BY
TRANSITIONAL SYSTEM MFG. CO., TEL. (530) 751-2610.
11. REPAIR ANY DAMAGE TO LANDSCAPE THROUGHOUT SITE, EVEN BEYOND LIMITS OF WORK IF DAMAGE CAUSED BY CONTRACTORS OPERATIONS,
INSTALLATION OR FAILURE TO ADHERE TO REQUIREMENTS NOTED ABOVE.
12. REFER TO IRRIGATION SPECIFICATION FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.
