AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO AGREEMENT FOR 116TH AVE SE
SIDEWALK PROJECT CAG-23-387
THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as March 17, 2025, is by and between
the City of Renton (the "City"), a Washington municipal corporation, and Shea Carr and Jewell,
Inc (dba SCJ Alliance) ("Consultant"), a Washington Corporation. The City and the Consultant are
referred to collectively in this Amendment as the "Parties." Once fully executed by the Parties,
this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-23-387, dated
November 9, 2023, to provide necessary services for the 116 th Ave SE Sidewalk Project (referred
to herein as the "Agreement");
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, and change the
compensation in order to complete storm water drainage report, updated construction cost
estimate, and collect additional survey.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-23-387 is amended as follows:
1.Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit
A-4, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2.Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $39,285.50 from $266,504.30 to
$305,789.80, including any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional
compensation shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s)
or amounts specified in Exhibit A-4, which is attached and incorporated herein.
3.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.

Overview
The project will advertise for bids in June of 2025. This Amendment includes the level of effort to add
engineering support during construction. The City will provide Construction Management and Administration
services. All of the original assumptions in the original contract apply unless specifically revised herein.
Assumptions
The following assumptions are incorporated into this amendment:
•Assumes five (5) month duration of the work, approximately June -November 2025.
Phase 12 Management/Coordination/Administration (Modified)
The task covers the effort required to manage the project. This amendment assumes a 5-month contract
extension.
Task2 Administration
Task 2.2 Progress Billings: Prepare monthly progress invoice. Invoices will show staff hours for
each phase (i.e. Phase 1: Project Management). Progress reports previously provided in Task 2.1 will not
be included.
Phase 12 Engineering Support During Construction
Provide support from the project design team to assist the City's construction administration and inspection.
Task 5 Engineering Support During Construction
Task 1.1 Materials Submittals: Support the Construction Administration with material submittal
reviews.
Task 1.2 Requests for Information: Provide review support for up to three (3) Requests for
Information (RFI) submitted by the Contractor.

Task 1.3 Field Changes and Change Orders: Provide design services for field changes or change
orders requested by the City. Assume up to two (2) minor field changes or change orders.
Task 1.4 Construction Meetings: Attend one (1) in-person pre-construction meeting and up to
twelve (12) in-person weekly progress meetings, including field visits immediately following the meeting.
Assume two (2) consultant staff for the pre-construction meeting and one (1) consultant staff for progress
meetings.
