Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 06/29/2025, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 1934
hours, I heard Officer Turner advise over the radio that he was behind an unconfirmed stolen vehicle at Sunset
Blvd N and NE 3rd St. Portions of my involvement in the incident were captured on my department-issued
body and dashcams.
The involved vehicle was a white 2017 Kia Optima bearing WA lic/BJT2875.The vehicle was reported stolen
and entered into WACIC/NCIC by the King County Sheriff's Office (OCA#C25019471) on 06/27/2025.
Once I caught up to Officer Turner and the suspect vehicle, a traffic stop was attempted.The vehicle, however,
failed to yield and a pursuit was authorized.
During the pursuit, we passed through the area of Rainier Ave N and Airport Way, headed northbound on the
former. I witnessed what I believed was a traffic collision involving the suspect vehicle and a vehicle bearing
WA lic/ACA5730. I was unsure if there was indeed a collision from my vantagepoint. It did look as though the
suspect vehicle struck the victim vehicle head-on from the rear at a low speed, possibly damaging the rear of
the victim vehicle.
The pursuit continued into the 800 block of Rainier Ave N,where it was ultimately terminated. I elected to
return to where I thought I saw the collision and located the victim vehicle still idling along the side of the
road.
I got out and spoke to the driver,Analyn V Llares-Sta Maria (01/27/1969—WA DOL photo),who confirmed
that she was uninjured, but startled by the event. I observed what appeared to be minor damage to the rear
trunk of the vehicle, consistent with where I thought I saw it get hit. I asked her to step out of the vehicle and
tell me whether this was new damage. She confirmed it was new damage.
Officer Rivera captured photos of the damage and uploaded it to evidence.com. I provided her with the case
number for the incident and documented all the information needed to report the collision. She did not advise
whether she wanted to press charges for hit and run if a suspect were to be identified.

Officer Narrative-Continued
The department-issued Axon dashcam seated in my vehicle captured my perspective of the collision as it
occurred,though the angle and sun glare make it difficult to see. I conferred with Officer Turner, driver of the
lead car in the pursuit,who advised that his dashcam also captured an angle of the collision. Please refer to
that footage for clarity.
