The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 7/2/2025 at 0821 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run that occurred at the intersection of
Main Ave S and S 2nd St.
I contacted the victim, identified as Kathleen K. Honsberger (DOB: 06/10/1986) by WA DOL, and
asked what happened. Honsberger stated that she was facing South on Main Ave S preparing to go
straight through the intersection of S 2nd St in the #1 lane. Honsberger stated that as she went
through the intersection a pickup truck, which was later identified as a gray Toyota Tundra,
performed a righthand turn from the#2 lane. In the process of this, the front passenger side bumper
of the Tundra struck the rear drivers side quarter panel of Honsberger's 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee
(WA LP: CKV0798).
Honsberger stopped just South of the intersection and the Tundra then fled West on S 2nd St. I
attempted to get a license plate from traffic cameras and FLOCK but was not successful. Honsberger
said that she followed the suspect vehicle West on S 2nd St before it turned South on Rainier Ave S
where she ceased following.
Honsberger stated that she would likely not be able to identify the driver of the suspect vehicle, but
would like to pursue charges if they are found. The suspect is described as a white male, 40-50, with
short hair and wearing sunglasses.
