This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. On 6/20/2025, at approximately 2234 hours I was dispatched to a report of a collision at Chick-Fil-A located at 375 Rainier Ave S. Dispatch advised 2 vehicle collision in a dispute over fault. At approximately 2236 hours I arrived on scene. The vehicles were located on S 3d PI just east of Rainier Ave S. The collision occurred in the intersection of S 3rd PI and Rainier Ave S. Unit 1 had significant damage to the front bumper on the driver side. Unit 2 had significant damage to front bumper on the driver side. All involved parties were out of the vehicle and on the sidewalk when 1 arrived. The driver of Unit 1 stated he was not injured. The driver of Unit 2 had complaints of neck pain. Renton Fire responded and evaluated all parties involved. Both involved parties provided their license and insurance. I spoke with the driver of Unit 1 and he relayed the following information. He was driving westbound on S 3rd PI approaching Rainier Ave S. He got into the left-hand turn lane. The light was green and he entered the intersection and began to turn left onto Rainer Ave S. Unit 2 was across from him driving through the intersection eastbound on S 3rd place from Renton Center Way. He did not see Unit 2 and struck the front driver side of Unit 2 with the front driver side of Unit 1. Airbags did not deploy and the vehicle did not need to be towed. I spoke to the driver of Unit 2 and he relayed the following information. He was driving eastbound on Renton Center Way approaching Rainier Ave S. He was in the lane designated to go straight through the intersection onto S 3rd PI. He had a green light and entered the intersection. He noticed Unit 1 across from him in the lane designated to turn southbound onto Rainer Ave S. Unit 1 began to turn southbound and struck the front driver side of Unit 2 with the front driver side of Unit 1. Airbags did not deploy and the vehicle did not need to be towed. The driver of Unit 2 had complaints of neck pain and was evaluated by Renton fire.
