The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 7/9/2025 at 0803 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run collision at the intersection of Monroe
Ave NE and NE 4th St.
I met with the victim, identified as Sterling M. Mckernon (DOB: 04/19/1993) by WADL, stated that
she was traveling West on NE 4th St in the#1 lane approaching Monroe Ave NE in her 2022 Toyota
Corolla Cross (WA LP: CFE6247). Mckernon stated that she was preparing to perform a righthand turn
to proceed North on Monroe Ave NE. Mckernon said that when she began her righthand turn, a black
Jeep, possibly a Wrangler or Grand Cherokee (LP: UNK) collided with the rear of her vehicle causing
minor damage.
Mckernon stated that the front passenger side bumper of the Jeep collided with the rear passenger
side bumper of her Corolla Cross causing minor damage.
Mckernon stated that she was unsure of the model of Jeep and only knew that it was black.
Mckernon said that prior to the collision, the Jeep had ben flashing its high beams at her from
behind.
Mckernon would not be able to identify a driver in this case or even a make or model of the Jeep. I
checked FLOCK and there were numerous results that could be possible suspect vehicles, however I

was unable to see damage on the front right bumper of any of the Jeeps seen on FLOCK.
The vehicle and suspect in this case still remain unidentified.
