EG08230 CASE# 25-5722 O OF COLLISION TIME 07/01/25 17:55 NARRATIVE 25-5722 On 07/01/2025 at approximately 1755 hours, I responded to an injury and blocking accident in the intersection of SW 7th ST and Powell Ave SW in the City of Renton, County of King, and the State of Washington. Upon arriving on scene, I saw two vehicles with heavy damage. A white Ford Discovery was on-top of a sidewalk facing northbound in a westbound lane and a black Honda CRV was facing westbound along the side of the roadway. Unit 1 was a white 2020 Ford Discovery bearing the WA license plate of (CNJ7193) with heavy driver side door damage. Across the street was Unit 2 which was a 2024 Honda CR-V bearing the WA license plate of (CMZ3448) with significant front-end damage. Renton Fire Department was called on scene to check on all involved occupants due to double deployed airbags in both vehicles. The driver of Unit 2 had a heavy nosebleed as well as a minor laceration on the tip of her nose. I spoke to the driver of Unit 2 to 2024 Honda CR-V driver who was identified as ROBINSON, KAISIANNA DEANNE (DOB 06-16-1973) via provided WA DOL. Robinson stated she was traveling eastbound on SW 7th St. Nearing the intersection of SW 7th ST and Powell AVE SW, Robinson continued through the intersection as it was her right-of-way. She stated as she was nearing the middle of the intersection, a white Ford Discovery pulled out in front of her and the two vehicles collided. I proceeded to speak to the occupants of Unit 1. The driver of the vehicle identified himself as KINIRY, KENNETH ROBERT (DOB 10-20-1991). Kiniry was traveling northbound on Powell AVE SW. He stated he was distracted and traveling at a heightened speed, around 30-35mph despite the posted 25mph. Approaching the intersection he did not notice the stop sign nor the intersection and drove into the middle. At the same time Unit 2 was traveling through the intersection and due to Kiniry's speed he was unable to break in time and the two vehicles collided. Both vehicles were inoperable due to the level of damage along with double airbag deployment and therefore towed at both owner's expense by Gene Meyers towing. The impact on the roadway along with the damage to each vehicle was photographed and later uploaded to AXON. KINIRY, KENNETH ROBERT (DOB 10-20-1991) will be charged with RMC 10-12-25 INATTENTIVE DRIVING due to the lack of attentiveness that would permit the driver of a motor vehicle to observe anything resting on, or traveling on, or entering the roadway in time to take appropriate action as circumstances require such as distracted driving that caused Kiniry to drive into the middle of an intersection despite the posted signage. Renton Fire Department cleared Robinson, and she advised she will be driven to Valley Medical Center by her family. Due to this Robinson filled out Medical Release paperwork. This concludes my involvement with this case. My involvement in this case was captured on my department-issued Axon body camera. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
