EG08231 CASE# 25-5724 O OF COLLISION TIME 07/01/25 18:34 NARRATIVE #25-5724 Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State of Washington. This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. On 07/01/2025 at approximately 1837 hours I was dispatched to SE Petrovitsky Rd and 111th Ave SE in the city of Renton, King County, WA, for a blocking collision. Unit#2 was a tan 2011 BMW X3 with WA LIC: BYG0755 (VIN: 5UXWX5C57BL708403) Unit#1 was a blue 2023 Toyotal Corolla with WA LIC: CKG2998 (VIN: 5YFP4MCE8PP164937) 1 arrived on scene and found unit#2 blocking the #2 eastbound lane of SE Petrovitsky Rd. There was no driver on scene with the vehicle. The vehicle had front end damage to the middle and driver side and required a tow truck to be removed from the roadway. Driver 1 of Unit 1, stated that he was stopped facing northbound on 111th Ave SE and signaling to turn westbound onto SE Petrovitsky Rd. He stated a vehicle was approaching from his west and had signaled to turn left (southbound) on to 111th Ave SE. He said he saw no other vehicles so he crossed from 111th Ave SE on to SE Petrovitsky Rd. As he entered the middle two way left turn lane, he was hit by unit#2 in his rear driver side quarter panel. Driver 1 stated a female driver and sole occupant of the BMW approached him and got his information, but only provided him with a phone number. She did not provide a name, drivers license, or insurance information. Driver 1 stated that driver 2 was a white female, mid 20's-30's, around 5'5", with maroon hair, and a tattoo on her left forehead. The registered owner of Unit#2 had a DOL address nearby at Stonebrook Apartments #6-1, located at 12210 SE Petrovitsky Rd. Officer Goodwin and I went to the address and contacted the occupants of that apartment who informed me the registered owner was their daughter who did not live at the location. They also stated that a friend of her daughters had sold the car for her approximately 2 years ago, but their daughter never reported the sale. They provided me with their daughters phone number who confirmed that she had sold the car, but was unsure of who purchased the vehicle. Unit#2 was unable to be driven away from the accident location. Banker's towing was dispatched to remove the car. Officer Goodwin completed the impound and provided Banker's with the necessary documentation. I took pictures and uploaded them to Axon. At the conclusion of my investigation, I determined that the proximate cause of the collision is due to the driver of unit 1 proceeding into traffic before all lanes were clear. If the driver of Unit#1 would have ensured no other vehicles were approaching before proceeding into the two way left hand turn lane, then this accident would not have happened. If driver 2 of unit 2 can be identified, there is probable cause to cite them for 46.52.020 duty on striking an attended car or other property (hit and run) for running into the blue Toyota Corolla with WA LIC: CKG2998 and not stopping to exchange or provide personal information.
