HomeMy WebLinkAboutSC_Kennydale_SSDP_2505.pdf 146 N Canal St, Suite 111 • Seattle, WA 98103 • www.confenv.com May 4, 2025 City of Renton Department of Community and Economic Development Attention: Alex Morganroth [Sent via email]: amorganroth@rentonwa.gov Re: Shoreline and Land Use Permit Application for City of Renton, Kennydale Lakeline Sewer System Decommissioning Project Dear Alex Morganroth: On behalf of Joe Stowell of the City of Renton (Renton) Public Works Department, we are submitting a permit application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit (SSDP) and State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Review for Renton’s Kennydale Lakeline Sewer System Decommissioning Project (the project). The work is also considered a Type II land use application and will follow the requirements identified. This application includes information discussed during the pre-application meeting for the project (PRE 24-000037). The project includes 2 phases of work: (1) upland installation of a new land-based sewer system, and (2) in-water work to decommission the existing Kennydale lakeline system. The project narrative for these phases is provided in the application materials. The proposal is considered a Utilities, Small use within Aquatic, Residential (R)-6, and R-8 land use zones. The project is considered a permitted use provided that aboveground public utility facilities, such as water towers, reservoirs, water treatment facilities and pump stations, shall be treated with public art, subject to approval by the Arts Commissions. The following review of the application materials is based on the SSDP submittal checklist (Table 1). Note that not all information is provided because this is a long linear project that involves several private residences. Table 1.
