On July 14th, 2025, at 1645 hours dispatch requested that I respond to a hit and run collision that
occurred at the intersection of Garden Ave N and N 8th St, in the city of Renton, county of King, and state
of Washington.
Upon contact, I spoke with the reporting party/victim,Zehua Zhao(02/15/1995), and he explained he was
traveling southbound on Garden Ave N and approaching N 8th St when the collision occurred.As he
approached N 8th St, he observed a red Chevy Spark traveling driving directly in front of him.The Chevy
Spark then entered the center turn lane and waited for Zehua to pass. Once Zehua was in front,the traffic
signal turned red.Zehua brought his vehicle to stop but was then struck from behind by the Red Chevy
Spark.After the collision occurred,the Chevy Spark made a U-turn and fled northbound on Garden Ave
N.Zehua's vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper.
Zehua and his front passenger/wife,Xue Ningyi, described the driver of the Chevy Spark as a white male
in his 30's.The driver was also accompanied by a white female.
Xue memorized the Chevy Sparks license plate(WA/BYS5153). I confirmed that the plate does return to a
red Chevy Spark and the registered owner of the vehicle is Jonathan L. Corson (09/25/1959).Jonathan
has a registered address of 10632 68th PL S, in Seattle.
After speakingwith Zehua and his wife Xue, both declined to press criminal charges against the other
driver.
I did however document the incident for insurance purposes.
I provided Zehua with my case number and contact information.
This case is closed.
