This incident was captured on my body worn video camera. This report is a summary of events that
occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized.
On 07/17/2025 at approximately 1622 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run at Valley Medical Center
Located at 400 S 43rd St, City of Renton, County of King,Washington. Dispatch advised the vehicle was
unattended and the hit and run had occurred within 2 hours prior to the call coming out.
I called the reporting party, Karen I. Darrin (03/24/1950),who stated she had gone into the hospital for an
appointment at approximately 1330 hours and when she returned to her vehicle at approximately 1530
hours, she noticed damage to both sides of her rear bumper. Darrin's vehicle is a white 2016 Toyota
Avalon bearing WA/BAZ9464.
Darrin stated she was speaking with hospital security to review security cameras for footage of the
incident.
I went to VMC to speak with security about reviewing footage but was informed no security cameras face
the area in the C Lot where Darrin's vehicle was parked.VMC security did however state a passerby
provided them with photographs of the vehicle which collided with Darrin's.The photographs were sent
to me a few hours later. I reviewed the photographs and uploaded them to AXON.
In the photographs I observed a green Subaru Forester bearing WA/028KLE near Darrin's vehicle but not
making direct contact.The photographs do not capture the driver. I ran the vehicle's license plate, and it
returned to an address in Renton,WA in King County Sheriff's Office jurisdiction.
I provided Darrin with a Renton Police Department case number.
