NARRATIVE
I was stopped at the red light at the intersection of Rainier Ave S and SW Grady Way. When the traffic light turned green, all
vehicles began moving forward, and I followed accordingly. Suddenly, the SUV directly in front of me slammed on their
brakes without warning, appearing to perform a brake check. I was unable to stop in time and made contact with the rear of
their vehicle.
I immediately pulled over to the side of the road. The other driver initially appeared to be pulling over as well, but instead, they
fled the scene without exchanging any information. I was shocked by the situation and did not think to contact the police at
the moment. However, I called my husband right after the incident, and together we reported the event to our insurance
company that same evening.
