Narrative
On 07/21/2025, 1 was working uniformed patrol in a marked police car as 3R23.At approximately
1816 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury/non-blocking collision at the Springtree Condos at
4300 NE Sunset Blvd,which is located within the city limits of Renton, County of King,
Washington. Dispatch advised that there was a 2 vehicle collision at the location,with one of
the parties not having insurance.
I arrived at the location and was able to identify each unit and its respective drivers and
occupants as listed above.
I spoke to the driver of Unit 2. My conversation with her is summarized as follows:
Unit 2 stated she was driving in lane 1 (rightmost lane) of westbound NE Sunset Blvd. She stated
that as she approached the entrance to the dispatch location, she noticed two vehicles in front
of her had signaled to turn into the complex. Unit 2 stated she had to brake as traffic was
stopped in her lane. She then reported that Unit 1 had struck the rear side of her vehicle. Unit 1
was able to provide me with all the required documentation when requested.
Unit 2 and her infant passenger claimed they were not injured at the time of the collision.
I took a look around Unit 2. Unit 2's driver pointed at the rear bumper area where Unit 1 had
struck her. I saw a very slight paint chip on the rear bumper area, but was unsure if that was new
or old.
I then spoke to the driver of Unit 1. My conversation with him is summarized as follows:
Unit 1 stated he was also traveling in the same direction as Unit 2. Unit 1 stated that due to the
traffic, he noticed Unit 2 had to brake in front of him. Unit 1 attempted to brake but was unable
to in time, which resulted in the front end of his vehicle striking Unit 2's rear bumper. Unit 1 was
unable to provide me with current proof of insurance for the vehicle listed. He stated he recently
purchased the vehicle and had not added the above-described vehicle to his insurance plan yet.
I also took a took at the insurance card he had on him, and the card showed it had expired back
in 2024 and was not valid.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

It should be noted that the driver of Unit 1 stated he added the above vehicle to his insurance
plan after the collision had happened.
Unit 1 was the sole occupant of his vehicle and stated he was not injured at the time of the
collision.
I took a look around Unit 1. 1 did not see any obvious damage to his front bumper from where his
bumper hit the rear side of Unit 2.
1 provided both parties a Renton PD business card with the associated case number for their
records.
Both parties left the location under their own power.
Based on the totality of circumstances described above, it appears Unit 1 was the proximate
cause of the collision.
Associated photos were taken and uploaded to Evidence.com to be added to the case file.
This report is for informational purposes to document the above collision.
