EG 11400 CASE# 25-6136 OF LNa 07/16/25 21:53 F coy�isI©�ON u NARRATIVE 25-6136 This incident was recorded with video and audio. Refer to this video for any exact quotations or for an exact sequence of events. The following is a summary of the events: On 07/16/2025 at approximately 2157 hours, I was dispatched to a collision with injuries at the intersection of Renton Ave Ext and Hardie Ave SW, within the city of Renton, King County, state of Washington. Upon arrival, I observed Vehicle 1 facing westbound and pinned into the southeast corner of the intersection. Vehicle 1 sustained heavy damage to the entire right side. Vehicle 2 was facing southeast and pinning Vehicle 1 into the southeast corner of the intersection. Vehicle 2 sustained heavy damage to its entire front end. Renton Fire Authority (RFA) responded and medically evaluated the involved parties. I proceeded to interview Witness 1. Witness 1 reported he was driving eastbound on Renton Ave Ext behind Vehicle 2. As they approached the intersection, Witness 1 reported that he and Vehicle 2 had the green light to proceed. Vehicle 1 was facing westbound and suddenly turned left (southbound) through the intersection as Vehicle 2 was proceeding through. Vehicle 2 ultimately collided with Vehicle 1. An assisting Officer interviewed Driver 1. In summary, Driver 1 was westbound at the intersection and preparing to turn left (southbound). Driver 1 reported he had a solid green light. Driver 1 thought that he saw Vehicle 2 had their left turn signal on to turn northbound at the intersection. Driver 1 then proceeded to turn southbound while Vehicle 2 was driving eastbound through the intersection. Driver 1 failed to yield to Vehicle 2 and collided with Vehicle 2. RFA medically cleared three out of the four involved parties and continued to evaluate Passenger 1 of Vehicle 1. RFA stated that Passenger 1 of Vehicle 1 may have fractured her ribs. Officers were unable to interview Passenger 1 of Vehicle 1 due to her condition. She was ultimately transported to Valley Medical Center, 400 S 43rd St, Renton. Passenger 1 of Vehicle 1 was able to sign a Consent for Release of Medical Information prior to being transported. The form was later submitted to Renton Records. Another assisting Officer interviewed Driver 2 and Passenger 1 of Vehicle 2. In summary, Driver 2 and Passenger 1 of Vehicle 2 observed a solid green light at the intersection. Driver 2 then proceeded to drive straight (eastbound) through the intersection as Vehicle 1 turned left (southbound) in front of them. Driver 2 did not have enough time to stop before colliding with Vehicle 1. Driver 1 only had a learner's permit, and he did not have proof of insurance for the vehicle. I am issuing Driver 1: Infraction #5A0506777 for RCW 46.61.185.1 - FAIL TO YIELD ON A LEFT TURN TO A MOTOR VEHICLE, RCW 46.20.015 - NO VALID OPERATOR'S LICENSE WITH VALID ID, and RCW 46.30.020 - OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT INSURANCE.
