DL State DLExp Address Primary Phone&Type AdditionalContact Number&Type Additional Contact Number&Type Race Sex DOB- Height Weight Even Hair Collision 2025-00006415 Paqe 2 OF 5 Case Number 2025-00006415 Officer Narrative Narrative On 07/25/2025, 1 was working uniformed patrol in a marked police car as 31323.At approximately 2225 hours, I was dispatched to a hit and run accident report at NE Sunset Blvd at the 1405 NB on ramp, which is located within the city limits of Renton, County of King, Washington. Dispatch advised that the caller reported a hit and run collision at the location that had occurred at around 2130 hours. I was able to contact the reporting party/driver/Unit 2 as listed above. He identified himself to me as such. My conversation with him is summarized as follows: At approximately 2130 hours, Unit 2 stated he was driving eastbound on N Southport Dr approaching the NB 1405 on-ramp. It should be noted that N Southport Dr turns into NE Sunset Blvd around where the NB 1405 ramp is located. Unit 2 stated he was in lane#1 (rightmost lane) headed east on N Southport Dr, preparing to continue onto the NB 1405 on-ramp. Lane#1 is a dedicated lane that takes any eastbound traffic on N Southport Dr directly onto NB 1405. Unit 2 stated that Unit 1 was in the adjacent lane (lane#2), which continues straight to continue eastbound onto NE Sunset Blvd. Unit 2 stated that Unit 1 had swerved from lane#2 to lane#1, causing Unit#1's front end to hit the front driver's side bumper and door of his vehicle (Unit 2). Unit 2 stated he followed Unit 1 for a while to retrieve a license plate.The license plate he provided returned to Unit 1 as listed above. It should be noted that Unit 2 was unable to confirm the actual make/model of Unit 1 over the phone and was only able to provide the license plate. Unit 2 also stated that he called the police twice to report the incident. It appeared that Unit 2 was directed to the Washington State Patrol(WSP) initially before he was transferred back to the Valley Communications Center(VCC). Based on Unit 2's recollection of events, it appears the collision occurred on the city street. Unit 2 was also able to provide me with the front passenger's information as listed above. He also advised me that the vehicle was a rental vehicle with Hertz Vehicles LLC. I reviewed the following: • 1 saw multiple pictures of the license plate bearing the information listed above for Unit 1. From the picture, it appears that Unit 1 is indeed the same make/model as listed on the License plate provided. • 1 also saw the damage to the driver's side of Unit 2. 1 observed some scratches and a small dent around the front driver's side bumper/wheel well area of Unit 2. • 1 also reviewed the insurance card that Unit 2 provided for his rental vehicle,which was Listed as a "self-insurance" certificate. Unit 2 stated that he and his passenger were uninjured. Unit 2 also stated that his vehicle was still drivable after the collision and that he was able to drive back home. Unit 2 stated he would not be able to identify the driver of Unit 1 at this time. Due to the volume of calls for service, I was unable to go to the DOL address of Unit 1 at this time. Based on the fact that Unit 1 struck Unit 2 while occupied and did not provide the necessary information required by law in the event of a motor vehicle collision, I found probable cause for RCW 46.52.020-hit and run (attended). At this time,the driver of Unit 1 is unknown. Should they be identified,there is probable cause for the above crime. Based on the totality of the circumstances, it appears Unit 1 is the proximate cause of the collision.
