HomeMy WebLinkAboutKCWTDComment07312025_project#LUA25-000196 Department of Natural Resources and Parks King Street Center, KSC-NR-0500 201 South Jackson Street Seattle, WA 98104-3854 July 31, 2025 sent via email: jding@rentonwa.gov KC OAP Ref No.: 2346 Jill Ding City of Renton 1055 South Grady Way Renton, WA 98057 Dear Jill Ding: The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) has received the Certificate of Exemption for the King County Parks Solar Light Improvement project (LUA25-000196, SME, CAE) that proposes a Critical Areas Exemption and Shoreline Exemption for the installation of off-grid, solar lights at six (6) locations: 3501 Lake Washington Blvd N, Renton, WA 98056; 12500 SE 188th Pl, Renton, WA 98058; Eastrail Trail at N 43rd St on the NW and SW corners; Eastrail Trail at N 41st St; Eastrail at Mountain View Ave N; Boulevard Lane Park; and Lake to Sound Trail at the railroad tracks near Monster Rd SW (APNs 2924059005, 3224059005, 3124059004, 1423049008, and 3323059057). The proposed lights would have a base that is two feet (2’) in diameter and would be installed at a depth of approximately nine feet (9’) below ground surface. King County, the East Side Interceptor and the North Soos Creek Trunk facilities are located at each of the 6 locations. (See enclosed record drawings and one line drawings showing the location of the facility in the project vicinity). In order to protect this wastewater facility during construction, WTD requires that City of Renton submit preliminary design drawings for the project, so that WTD can assess its potential impacts. King County has a permanent easement for a sewer line on the proposed development site, and must be assured the right to maintain and repair the sewer line. In the event that July 31, 2025 Page 2 of 2 the line must be relocated, a new permanent easement must be provided.
