SUBJECT: "On Hold" Notice
SEA Mill Verizon / LUA18-000241
Dear Ms. Todd:
The Planning Division of the City of Renton accepted the above master application for review on
April 12, 2018. During our review, staff has determined that the proposed camouflaging method,
painting the equipment to match, does not sufficiently address the standards for camouflaged
wireless communication facilities outlined in RMC 4-4-140. The proposed vertical antennas break
up the horizontal lines of the existing façade and are not truly integrated into the existing
architecture of the structure. Additionally, the structure is also located in an urban design district
within the downtown core, an area of the City where higher quality design and materials are
expected to be utilized.
At this time, your project has been placed “on hold” pending receipt of a design proposal that
more closely complies with the camouflaged wireless communication facility standards. Upon an
accepted resubmittal, the project will be taken off hold and review by staff will continue. Please
contact me at (425) 430-7219 or amorganroth@rentonwa.gov should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Alex Morganroth
