Narrative
At 1650 hrs on 8/1/2025, 1 took a collision report by phone. Involved driver Evan Nguyen told me that he had
attempted to report the collision online, but that it did not meet the criteria for an online report. Nguyen gave
me the following account:
On the afternoon of 6/8/2025, Nguyen was pulling into the driveway of 3750 East Valley Rd; Nguyen was
driving his gold 2004 Mercedes E500 (WA CLF7524).This location is Triumph Valley, a restaurant within the
city limits of Renton, King County, Washington State. Nguyen was turning from northbound East Valley Rd into
the driveway, and stopped for two cars blocking the parking aisle.A white 2023 Lexus RX350 (WA CGC0960)
was pulling in behind Nguyen, and ran into Nguyen's car.
Nguyen had to follow the Lexus, which at first he feared was not going to stop.The Lexus' driver was Joseph
Tran; he had two female passengers in his Lexus,who may have been his mother and grandmother.There was
minor damage to Nguyen's Mercedes;Tran told Nguyen that he worked for a body shop, and offered to repair
the Mercedes.The two exchanged contact information, but never traded insurance information, as Nguyen
didn't want to make an insurance claim for fear of affecting his premiums.
Although Tran had offered to repair the damage, after some exchange of texts Tran denied having run into the
Mercedes. Nguyen had been able to get video from Triumph Valley that showed that Tran ran into Nguyen's
car. I explained to Nguyen that this did not constitute a hit and run collision, but completed a traffic incident
report for information only.
I sent Nguyen an Axon upload link, and he sent photos of the damage to his car, as well as the Triumph Valley
video. In the video, I was able to see that Tran appeared to rear end the Mercedes, and saw that the collision
occurred on private property in the Triumph Valley lot.

events, please refer to the video record for further details.
