Narrative
ASSIGNMENT
On 08/04/2025 at approximately 1512 hours, I was dispatched to a hit and run report by phone
that occurred at the intersection of Ferndale Court NE and NE 2nd Place in the city of Renton,
King County,Washington.
VICTIM STATEMENT: CHAU DAVID
I spoke with the victim, David Chau (DOB: 11/02/1989) by phone. I have yet to confirm Chau's
identity. The following is a summary of our conversation:
On 08/02/2025 at approximately 2320 hours, Chau drove his vehicle, a silver 2020 Toyota Rav4
(WA/ BWF1439) north on Ferndale Court NE toward NE 2nd Place. Chau was driving home to his
residence, 254 Ferndale Court NE. Chau intended to park his Toyota in the garage, which was
accessible only via the alleyway in the back(east) of his residence.
Chau approached the intersection of NE 2nd Place to turn right(east)to enter the north/south
alleyway behind his home.Another vehicle, a 2018 Kia Sportage (WA/CCB7930), drove west on
NE 2nd Place toward Ferndale Court NE.The Kia turned south onto Ferndale Court NE and
struck Chau's Toyota's front end and causing minor damage.
The unknown driver briefly exited the Kia and looked at the damage to both vehicles. The
unknown driver tried to blame Chau for the collision, but once Chau said he had the collision
captured on his dash camera the driver fled in the Kia.
The unknown driver did not exchange any required information with Chau. Chau described the
driver as a black mate in his mid-30's, about 6-feet tall, heavy build, wearing a black hoodie.
Chau believed he could identify the driver if seen again.
Chau took photographs of the Kia as it drove away and gave me the license plate at the time of
report.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

This concluded my conversation with Chau.
PHOTOGRAPHS/VIDEO FOOTAGE
I sent Chau two Axon Community Request links for the photographs on his cell phone and the
dash camera footage stored on his computer.
I have yet to receive the photographs or the video.
DISPOSITION
This concluded my involvement in this case.
