RENTON PD CASE#:25-6813
On 08.05.2025, at approximately 1728 hours, I was contacted by Officer T. Nguyen, requesting I
respond to Brown Bear Car Wash, located at 800 S. Grady Way, for damage to City Property.
This location is located within the City of Renton, WA, the County of King.
At the time of this incident, I was assigned to uniformed marked patrol in the City of Renton, WA, the
County of King. I was operating a fully marked Renton Police Chevy Silverado #314, equipped with
"POLICE" markings, interior lights, and audible siren. I was wearing my department-issued uniform,
including a fully equipped duty belt, exterior ballistic vest with "POLICE" stenciled on the front and
back and Renton Police badge affixed to the left breast. I was also wearing my department-issued
jumpsuit with "POLICE" patches on both shoulders and across the rear shoulders. It would be
immediately obvious to any reasonable person I was a police sergeant. I was assigned as the
graveyard patrol sergeant for the north end of the city, 6r20.
I arrived on scene at approximately 1729 hours, and met with Officer Timothy Nguyen, who advised
he was operating his clearly marked and visible Renton Police Patrol Vehicle#257. Officer Nguyen
was at the location attempting to enter the car wash, which is located on the north side of the property.
As Officer Nguyen was turning into the west-most car wash, he struck the yellow pole on the outside
of the car wash entrance. The pole struck the passenger side low running board, causing
damage/scratching to the running board only-the vehicle was operable and was not taken out of
service.
Unit 01 was identified as a black/white in color Renton Police Vehicle#257, a 2018 Chevy Tahoe
bearing WA Exempt Plate/ 66279D.
I took photographs of the involved patrol vehicle as well as the yellow pole outside the car wash
entrance and uploaded them to this AXON.
Further, I completed the damage to City property form via Origami under Incident Report Number:
Incident: 1-2025-231. All photos have been uploaded into Axon Evidence.
I spoke to the employees at Brown Bear, and provided them with my business card to include the
case number and my email address.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
