The Al-Mahdi Society of Washington is requesting a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to use four
existing commercial suites (102, 103, 201, and 204) at 200 SW 41st St, Renton, WA 98057 as a
multi-purpose community center. The center will serve local families and residents through
non-profit, educational, and cultural programming. Primary uses will include weekend and
evening youth classes, tutoring sessions, community support meetings, and occasional prayer
gatherings.
No new construction or significant modifications are proposed. Only limited interior wall removal
(non-load-bearing drywall) may be conducted to create more open instructional or gathering
space. No exterior alterations or site changes are proposed. The use will remain within the
footprint of the existing building and rely on the existing shared parking and access facilities.
The applicant anticipates programming will primarily occur during evenings and weekends to
minimize impact on other tenants and businesses.
